Ubiquitin family

PF00240

Definition

This family contains a number of ubiquitin-like proteins: SUMO (smt3 homologue) (see [swissprot:Q02724]), Nedd8 (see [swissprot:P29595]), Elongin B (see [swissprot:Q15370]), Rub1 (see [swissprot:Q9SHE7]), and Parkin (see [swissprot:O60260]). A number of them are thought to carry a distinctive five-residue motif termed the proteasome-interacting motif (PIM), which may have a biologically significant role in protein delivery to proteasomes and recruitment of proteasomes to transcription sites PMID:12826399.

43 human proteins with this domain

Each is a reviewed human protein in the Seroatlas serome and a potential autoantibody target; this domain groups them into one antibody-relevant category. Every entry links to its own record.
