This domain is found N-terminal in various melanoma associated antigens from eukaryotes, and is typically between 82 and 96 amino acids in length. These are tumour rejection antigens which are expressed on HLA-A1 of tumour cells and they are recognised by cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) PMID:7642112.
