CD225/Dispanin family

IPR007593

Definition

This family represents a set of transmembrane proteins including various interferon-induced transmembrane proteins, synapse differentiation-inducing gene protein 1, and tumor suppressor candidate 5 and homologues. Interferon-induced transmembrane protein 1 (also known as human leukocyte antigen CD225) regulates vesicular membrane fusion events and is essential for different physiological processes such as interferon induced cell growth suppression, neurotransmision and metabolism [[cite:PMID:7559564], [cite:PMID:22363774], [cite:PMID:33518406]].
