This group represents LIPH (lipase H)-type lipases PMID:12213196. It includes lipase H, lipoprotein lipase (LPL), and hepatic and pancreatic lipases. LIPH hydrolyses specifically phosphatidic acid (PA) to produce 2-acyl lysophosphatidic acid (LPA; a potent bioactive lipid mediator) and fatty acid [[cite:PMID:12063250], [cite:PMID:12963729]].
