EML-like, first beta-propeller domain

IPR055439

Definition

This entry represents the first β-propeller domain of echinoderm microtubule-associated protein (EMAP)-like (EML) proteins PMID:24706829. This model completes the first β-propeller of the TAPE pair in EMLs. In some members, such as EML5 and EML6, there are three TAPE pairs. This entry also includes Cilia- and flagella-associated protein 44, EMAP and Ciliary WD repeat-containing protein ctxp80. EML proteins contribute to the formation of the mitotic spindle and interphase microtubule network PMID:24706829. In these proteins, the β-propellers are intimately associated as a pair, which was defined as a tandem atypical propeller in EMLs (TAPE) domain. There is a hydrophobic core between the propellers, which corresponds to the HELP motif ([interpro:IPR005108]) that contributes blades 1 and 14 buried at the interface and joins them PMID:24706829.

7 human proteins with this domain

Each is a reviewed human protein in the Seroatlas serome and a potential autoantibody target; this domain groups them into one antibody-relevant category. Every entry links to its own record.
