Arylacetamide deacetylase
IPR017157
Definition
The lipase arylacetamide deacetylase is involved in the utilisation of triacylglycerol (TAG) for the assembly of very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) in the secretory apparatus of the hepatocyte, as the process is mobilized by lipolysis of the cytosolic TAG pool, followed by re-esterification PMID:14748713. The enzyme competes with cytosolic arylamine N-acetyltransferase, which catalyses one of the initial biotransformation pathways for arylamine and heterocyclic amine carcinogens in many tissues in many species PMID:8063807.
