OverviewNCBI Gene
This gene encodes a protein that is involved in innate and adaptive immune response by regulating toll-like receptor signaling. The encoded protein traffics nucleotide sensing toll-like receptors to the endolysosome from the endoplasmic reticulum. Deficiency of the encoded protein has been associated with herpes simplex encephalitis. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2014]

Antibody and autoantibody relevanceSeroatlas analysis
Seroatlas reads UNC93B1 as an antibody target. Whether an autoantibody or antibody against UNC93B1 could matter depends on whether native UNC93B1 is physically reachable, whether the body needs it intact, and whether it acts in a disease-relevant tissue.
UNC93B1 is annotated as predominantly intracellular. Intracellular proteins are common autoantibody markers, becoming visible to the immune system after cell injury or altered processing, but are usually markers of disease rather than direct drivers.
Annotation status
The present source text does not explicitly label UNC93B1 as an autoantigen. Seroatlas presents hypothesis context only and does not manufacture a known-serology claim.
