OverviewNCBI Gene
The protein encoded by this gene contains a RING finger, a motif present in a variety of functionally distinct proteins and known to be involved in protein-DNA and protein-protein interactions. The encoded protein is the E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase component of the linear ubiquitin chain assembly complex. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Antibody and autoantibody relevanceSeroatlas analysis
Seroatlas reads RNF31 as an antibody target. Whether an autoantibody or antibody against RNF31 could matter depends on whether native RNF31 is physically reachable, whether the body needs it intact, and whether it acts in a disease-relevant tissue.
RNF31 is annotated as predominantly intracellular. Intracellular proteins are common autoantibody markers, becoming visible to the immune system after cell injury or altered processing, but are usually markers of disease rather than direct drivers.
Annotation status
The present source text does not explicitly label RNF31 as an autoantigen. Seroatlas presents hypothesis context only and does not manufacture a known-serology claim.
