OverviewNCBI Gene
This gene encodes a member of the IQGAP family. The encoded protein contains three IQ domains, one calponin homology domain, one Ras-GAP domain and one WW domain. This protein interacts with components of the cytoskeleton, with cell adhesion molecules, and with several signaling molecules to regulate cell morphology and motility. It also acts as a tumor suppressor and has been found to play a role in regulating innate antiviral responses. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Antibody and autoantibody relevanceSeroatlas analysis
Seroatlas reads IQGAP2 as an antibody target. Whether an autoantibody or antibody against IQGAP2 could matter depends on whether native IQGAP2 is physically reachable, whether the body needs it intact, and whether it acts in a disease-relevant tissue.
IQGAP2 is annotated at the cell surface, where native IQGAP2 is exposed to circulating antibodies and is a prime autoantibody target that could block, deplete, or overstimulate it.
Annotation status
The present source text does not explicitly label IQGAP2 as an autoantigen. Seroatlas presents hypothesis context only and does not manufacture a known-serology claim.
