Polyadenylate binding protein, human types 1, 2, 3, 4
IPR006515
Definition
These eukaryotic proteins recognise the poly-A of mRNA and consist of four tandem RNA recognition domains at the N terminus followed by a PABP-specific domain at the C terminus. The protein is involved in the transport of mRNAs from the nucleus to the cytoplasm PMID:9582337. There are four paralogs in Homo sapiens (Human) which are expressed in testis PMID:11328870, platelets ([swissprot:Q13310] PMID:8524242), broadly expressed ([swissprot:P11940] PMID:9582337) and of unknown tissue range ([swissprot:Q15097]).
