Iroquois-class homeodomain protein
IPR003893
Definition
This is a motif found only in Iroquois-class homeodomain proteins. It has unknown function. Examples include iroquois-class homeodomain protein IRX-4, and homeobox proteins caupolican and araucan, which control proneural and vein forming genesand are positive transcriptional controllers of achaete-scute. They may act as activators that interact with the transcriptional initiation complex assembled on the achaete and scute promoters.
