OverviewNCBI Gene

This gene encodes a member of the doublecortin family. The protein encoded by this gene is a hydrophilic, intracellular protein. It contains a single doublecortin domain and is unable to bind microtubules and to regulate microtubule polymerization. This gene is mainly expressed in adult testis. It does not have a mouse homolog. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2010]

Antibody and autoantibody relevanceSeroatlas analysis

Seroatlas reads DCDC1 as an antibody target. Whether an autoantibody or antibody against DCDC1 could matter depends on whether native DCDC1 is physically reachable, whether the body needs it intact, and whether it acts in a disease-relevant tissue.

DCDC1 is annotated as predominantly intracellular. Intracellular proteins are common autoantibody markers, becoming visible to the immune system after cell injury or altered processing, but are usually markers of disease rather than direct drivers.

Annotation status

The present source text does not explicitly label DCDC1 as an autoantigen. Seroatlas presents hypothesis context only and does not manufacture a known-serology claim.
