Schlafen, AlbA_2

PF04326

Definition

This is the AlbA_2 domain from the Schlafen (SLFN) family of proteins which are important in cell differentiation and defense against viruses [[cite:PMID:31026779],[cite:PMID:34571887]]. This domain is present at the N-terminal of all SLFN proteins and includes the SLFN box, a sequence unique to these proteins that may form a dimer interface PMID:31026779. The AlbA_2 domain is RNA-binding and RNase region as it contains the highly conserved catalytic glutamic acid residues PMID:31026779.

7 human proteins with this domain

Each is a reviewed human protein in the Seroatlas serome and a potential autoantibody target; this domain groups them into one antibody-relevant category. Every entry links to its own record.
