CBX family C-terminal motif
IPR033773
Definition
CBX7 and RING1B are components of a Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein PRC1-like complex which maintains many genes, including Hox genes, transcriptionally repressed during development, signalling and cancer by recognizing trimethylated lysines on histones PMID:21282530. This motif is found at the C terminus of CBX7 where it binds the RAWUL domain of the RING1B protein [[cite:PMID:18588675], [cite:PMID:19791798]].
