Definition

This domain is found in human von Willebrand factor (vWF) and similar proteins mainly found in animals. vWF is important in the maintenance of hemostasis and acts as a chaperone for coagulation factor VIII, delivering it to the site of injury. This domain adopts an all-beta structure PMID:24700780. It is often found associated to [pfam:PF00094].
