Ubiquilin-1-like domain

PF23195

Definition

This domain is found in human Ubiquilin-1 (UBQLN1) and similar eukaryotic sequences. UBQLN1 plays an important role in the regulation of different protein degradation mechanisms and pathways including ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS), autophagy and endoplasmic reticulum-associate protein degradation (ERAD) pathway PMID:18307982. This domain, often found associated to [pfam:PF00240] and [pfam:PF00627], is predicted to adopt an all-alpha helical structure.
