Neuroligin

IPR000460

Definition

Neuroligins (NLGNs) interact with the neurexin family members and are involved in the modulation of synaptic transmission PMID:17275284. Mammals have four Nlgn proteins, with the Nlgn3 and Nlgn4 gene in humans localised to the X-chromosome. In humans, the Nlgn4 gene is complemented on the Y-chromosome by a similar Nlgn5 gene PMID:18923512.
