Desmoplakin, SH3 domain
IPR041615
Definition
This entry represents the SH3 domain found in Desmoplakin and related proteins PMID:21536047. Desmoplakin (DP) is an integral part of desmosomes, where it links desmosomal cadherins to the intermediate filaments. The N-terminal region of DP contains a plakin domain common to members of the plakin family. Plakin domains contain multiple copies of spectrin repeats (SRs). Spectrin repeats (SRs) consist of three α-helices (A, B, and C) that form an antiparallel triple-helical bundle PMID:21536047.
6 human proteins with this domain
Each is a reviewed human protein in the Seroatlas serome and a potential autoantibody target; this domain groups them into one antibody-relevant category. Every entry links to its own record.
