OverviewNCBI Gene

This gene encodes a Kruppel-associated box (KRAB) zinc-finger protein, which belongs to a large group of transcriptional regulators in mammals. These proteins bind nucleic acids and play important roles in various cellular functions, including cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis, and in regulating viral replication and transcription. A pseudogene of this gene was identified on chromosome 1. [provided by RefSeq, May 2016]

Antibody and autoantibody relevanceSeroatlas analysis

Seroatlas reads ZNF717 as an antibody target. Whether an autoantibody or antibody against ZNF717 could matter depends on whether native ZNF717 is physically reachable, whether the body needs it intact, and whether it acts in a disease-relevant tissue.

ZNF717 is annotated as predominantly intracellular. Intracellular proteins are common autoantibody markers, becoming visible to the immune system after cell injury or altered processing, but are usually markers of disease rather than direct drivers.

Annotation status

The present source text does not explicitly label ZNF717 as an autoantigen. Seroatlas presents hypothesis context only and does not manufacture a known-serology claim.

Seroatlas is the reference for exploring autoantibody and antibody serology at the human-protein level: the autoreactome and human serome, multiplex serology (HuProt, HuScan, VirScan, PhIP-Seq).
