OverviewNCBI Gene
Protein kinase CK2 is a ubiquitous and pleiotropic Ser/Thr protein kinase involved in cell growth and transformation. This gene encodes a protein similar to the E2 ubiquitin conjugating enzyme UBC3/CDC34. Studies suggest that CK2-dependent phosphorylation of this ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme functions by regulating beta-TrCP substrate recognition and induces its interaction with beta-TrCP, enhancing beta-catenin degradation. Antibody and autoantibody relevanceSeroatlas analysis
Seroatlas reads UBE2R2 as an antibody target. Whether an autoantibody or antibody against UBE2R2 could matter depends on whether native UBE2R2 is physically reachable, whether the body needs it intact, and whether it acts in a disease-relevant tissue.
UBE2R2 is annotated as predominantly intracellular. Intracellular proteins are common autoantibody markers, becoming visible to the immune system after cell injury or altered processing, but are usually markers of disease rather than direct drivers.
Annotation status
The present source text does not explicitly label UBE2R2 as an autoantigen. Seroatlas presents hypothesis context only and does not manufacture a known-serology claim.
