OverviewNCBI Gene

This locus represents naturally occurring read-through transcription between the neighboring NDUFC2 (NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) 1, subcomplex unknown, 2, 14.5kDa) and KCTD14 (potassium channel tetramerisation domain containing 14) genes on chromosome 11. The read-through transcripts share sequence identity with the upstream gene product and one variant has a frameshifted C-terminal region derived from the downstream gene exons. Antibody and autoantibody relevanceSeroatlas analysis

Seroatlas reads NDUFC2-KCTD14 as an antibody target. Whether an autoantibody or antibody against NDUFC2-KCTD14 could matter depends on whether native NDUFC2-KCTD14 is physically reachable, whether the body needs it intact, and whether it acts in a disease-relevant tissue.

NDUFC2-KCTD14 is annotated as predominantly intracellular. Intracellular proteins are common autoantibody markers, becoming visible to the immune system after cell injury or altered processing, but are usually markers of disease rather than direct drivers.

Annotation status

The present source text does not explicitly label NDUFC2-KCTD14 as an autoantigen. Seroatlas presents hypothesis context only and does not manufacture a known-serology claim.
