OverviewNCBI Gene
This gene encodes a member of a family of serine/threonine protein kinases that phosphorylate caseins and other acidic proteins. A related protein in the African clawed frog participates in the transmission of Wnt/beta-catenin signaling. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2012]

Whether an antibody against CSNK1G3 can act on the native protein depends on physical access: surface and secreted proteins are reachable by circulating antibodies, intracellular proteins usually are not.

Antibody and autoantibody relevanceSeroatlas analysis
Seroatlas reads CSNK1G3 as an antibody target. Whether an autoantibody or antibody against CSNK1G3 could matter depends on whether native CSNK1G3 is physically reachable, whether the body needs it intact, and whether it acts in a disease-relevant tissue.
CSNK1G3 is annotated as predominantly intracellular. Intracellular proteins are common autoantibody markers, becoming visible to the immune system after cell injury or altered processing, but are usually markers of disease rather than direct drivers.
Annotation status
The present source text does not explicitly label CSNK1G3 as an autoantigen. Seroatlas presents hypothesis context only and does not manufacture a known-serology claim.
